Idle Broker β€” free Wall Street idle game

Free browser game Β· no download Β· play instantly

You start with one desk, one phone and just enough seed capital to hire a single intern. Nothing on that desk earns a cent until you tell it to trade, and every trade takes seconds to settle. Two hours later a floor of interns, analysts and a crypto exchange are placing those trades for you while you are asleep. Idle Broker is a game about that gap β€” the slow climb from doing the work yourself to never having to touch it again.

The genre

What kind of game is this?

It is an idle game, sometimes called an incremental or clicker game. The genre has a simple promise: the numbers only ever go up, and the interesting decision is never whether to grow but what to grow next. Idle Broker dresses that loop in a Wall Street theme β€” your income is trades, your workers are staff, and your prestige reset is selling the firm and starting a new one.

The one thing that sets it apart from most clickers: income here is not a smooth trickle. Nothing pays out per second. Every generator runs a timed trade β€” it works for a few seconds, then pays a lump sum. You watch progress rings fill across your desk. It makes the early game feel like actual work, which is the point, because automation later feels like a genuine relief rather than a bigger number.

Getting started

How to play

  1. 1

    Hire your first Intern

You open with enough seed capital for exactly one Intern, and until you spend it nothing on the desk can earn anything. That is the point: in this game you never make money, your assets do.

  2. 2

    Put the desk to work

The TRADE button starts a trade on every asset you own that isn't automated yet β€” the badge on it counts how many that is. An Intern's trade runs five seconds and pays a lump sum. Trades you start by hand carry the Midas Touch bonus; automated ones don't.

  3. 3

    Buy automation

This is the real turning point, and it is the one most new players save up for too late. Automation costs 15Γ— a generator's base price and makes it restart its own trades forever β€” including while the tab is closed. An un-automated generator earns nothing while you are away. An automated one earns for up to eight hours offline.

  4. 4

    Watch the market phase

Prices in a city move as you close in on the next one: a cheap opening, an expensive middle where walking away for the offline run is the sensible play, and a cheaper stretch at the end. The Investments panel names the current phase and what it is doing to your prices.

  5. 5

    Climb the ladder

Each generator out-earns the last by an order of magnitude, and each costs proportionally more. Owning more of one also makes it faster: at 10, 25, 50 and 100 units its trades speed up, topping out at 40% quicker.

  6. 6

    Reinvest and start again

Once you stall, prestige. You give up your coins and generators and get permanent multipliers in return. The second run reaches your old ceiling in a fraction of the time. This is not a punishment β€” it is the actual progression.

There is more

Beyond the trading desk

A firm with people in it

Quests come from characters rather than a checklist. Alex Marsh, your senior broker, runs the main line from your first handshake onward. Zara Kim shows up with crypto work once you have proven yourself, and Victoria Cross only bothers with you when the numbers get serious.

The whale

A city that grows with you

Your holdings render as an isometric skyline. Buy a Coffee Cart and a single storey appears. Keep buying and it gains storey after storey, all the way to a tower at a hundred owned. Staff walk between the buildings that are actively trading. It is a progress bar you can look at.

Thirty achievements

From First Trade for your first settled trade to One Small Step for reaching the Moon. All of them are visible from the start, and each pays a couple of gems. They are tied to a free account, so the record survives a cleared browser.

Money

Is it free?

Yes. Every generator, quest, achievement, city and prestige tier is reachable without paying. There is no energy meter and no timer asking for money, and the game screen carries no ads at all β€” the ads are on article pages like this one.

What money buys is speed and convenience. Gems are the premium currency: they buy permanent character buffs, timed earnings surges, instant time warps and shortcuts between cities. You earn a couple of gems from every achievement, which is enough to try them β€” but stacking the buffs to full realistically means buying a pack. None of it unlocks content; all of it makes the climb shorter.

There is also an optional Premium subscription at 239 CZK a month that doubles all earnings. It changes how fast you climb, not what you can reach.

Before you ask

Common questions

Do I need an account?

Not to play β€” the game starts immediately and saves to your browser's local storage. A free account (Google, or Discord where enabled) is needed for the things that must outlive one browser: achievements, the gem shop and the premium subscription. Sign in later and every achievement you already earned unlocks at once.

Does it keep earning when I close the tab?

Automated generators do, for up to eight hours. Anything you have not automated stops the moment you leave. This is the single most important thing to understand about the game.

Can I play on my phone?

Yes. The nav sits in the bottom-left corner and panels grow out of the icon you press rather than covering the screen, so the city stays visible while you shop. You can install the game to your home screen as an app.

Will I lose progress when I prestige?

You lose coins and generators; you keep permanent upgrades and achievements. In practice you rebuild past your old peak much faster than the first time.

Why is my income not going up every second?

Because nothing in this game pays per second. Generators run timed trades and pay a lump sum when each one settles. The Return/s figure in the header is an average across your automated trades, not a tick-by-tick rate.
